This is your chance to lead an extraordinary career and invest in your future.Read more about DWS and who we are here.Team / division overviewThe Chief Risk Office (CRO) within DWS is an independent function responsible for protecting the business as well as being a trusted adviser and partner for supporting sustainable business growth.CRO is responsible for ensuring that DWS meets its regulatory and contractual commitments as well as the expectations of clients, shareholders and regulators that the organisation 'does what is right rather than just what is allowed'. CRO seeks to protect DWS against losses and reputational damage, through effective oversight and advice, underpinned by an exemplary risk culture.The Risk platform is the independent risk oversight function of DWS, with sustainability risk playing a pivotal role in driving the commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices. The team leads sustainability risk management efforts, ensuring that ESG considerations are integrated into the risk management framework and risk management processes.Role DetailsAs a Senior Risk Manager you will (be):Integration and management of PAI into key components of the DWS Group's risk management framework, for example key sustainability activities, risk taxonomy, risk strategy, risk appetite, procedures and frameworks.Principal Adverse Impact implementation in the context of EU SFDR and other regulations.Cover 2nd line of defense responsibilities for PAI-related risks, aligning with 1st line of defense PAI risk owners.Planning, execution and reporting on PAI risk management implementation activities.Contribute to operationalizing ESG/sustainability frameworks, regulations and policies (e.g., SFDR principle adverse impact, CSRD, scenario analyses, policies on climate, biodiversity, human rights, EU Taxonomy), into key components of ESG/sustainability risk management.CSRD, TCFD, Scenario Analysis, Principal Adverse Impact implementation.Responsibility for ongoing risk management activities related to principle adverse impact, in context of PAI and ESG/sustainability risks at the enterprise level, such as risk appetite reporting, vendor risk assessment, and implementation of controls related to greenwashing risks.Planning, organizing, conducting and evaluating workshops to develop new methods and processes as well as developing and delivering training on PAI and ESG/sustainability risks.Develop and implement new methodologies and processes for managing PAI ESG/sustainability risks in the DWS Group as part of strategic, financial and non-financial risks in collaboration with the respective risk functions and business units.Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to a staff member in the execution of ESG risk-related project activities and ongoing risk management activities.You will report to the Head of ESG/Sustainability Risk.We are looking forUniversity degree in Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Business Administration or Risk Management.Proven experience in risk management, statistical analysis, financial markets and/or pricing, building and managing structured data and information, and related fields.Proven experience in ESG/Sustainability Risk Management related to EU and Global regulations for asset managers or Corporate ESG/Sustainability Implementation.Minimum 9 years of experience in relevant roles.Knowledge of the European regulatory environment for Asset Managers with a focus on Risk Management.Experience in the European and Global ESG Environment for Asset Managers (e.g., regulations related to EU Action Plan/Taxonomy for sustainable finance, EU CSRD, TCFD/TNFD, EU Deforestation Regulation, regulations and standards for climate plans, etc).Ability and drive to transform sustainability regulations and standards into effective risk management tools.Excellent analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills, project management skills and structured information management skills.Experience with end-to-end enterprise process management in ESG/Sustainability risk management.Ability to interact and lead projects with multiple stakeholders within a multi-divisional and global organization to develop solution designs to address cross organizational challenges.Advanced skills in Microsoft Office packages (Excel / PowerPoint).Leadership experience is considered a plus.Excellent command of English language (written and spoken skills), German is considered an advantage.Team player.What we'll offer you:Without the ambitions of our people, our achievements wouldn't be possible.
