As we expand our operations, we are seeking an experienced and driven individual to join us in our Bremen office. Your mission: Leading the Propulsion department, overseeing operations related to rocket, air-breathing and combined-cycle propulsion systems. Responsible for the development, manufacturing, testing, and vehicle integration of propulsion systems. Ensuring the prompt and cost-effective execution of technical tasks and projects. Managing resources including personnel and budget. Serving as liaison with the Vehicles department. Support customer acquisition. The Head of Propulsion reports to the Head of Engineering. Your profile: Multi-year experience as department, project, or team leader. Work experience in major rocket engine projects. Additional work experience in air-breathing propulsion systems is an advantage. Additional background in hypersonics is advantageous. Experience in the defense sector is a plus. Proficiency in both German and English. Start-up mentality. Proactive thinking, high level of motivation, flexibility, resilience, and teamworking skills. About us: The German aerospace start-up POLARIS Raumflugzeuge GmbH is developing a revolutionary reusable space launch and hypersonic transport system that operates like an aircraft. Based on more than 30 years of German and European spaceplane research, the development of the spaceplane AURORA began at the German Aerospace Center DLR. Aurora combines aircraft and rocket launcher technologies with a unique vehicle design, and offers a game-changing economic viability as well as opening the door for routine low-cost and safe access to space. In order to validate the technology and accelerate the spaceplane development, POLARIS has been developing a series of scaled flight demonstrators. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent.
